n the annual Houston Chronicle survey of area companies, The Gillman Automotive
Group was recognized as one of the Top 100 Workplaces. The ranking, based on a
study done by the research group Workplace Dynamics, included 1,352 for-profit
and nonprofit organizations, made up of small, medium, and mid-size
establishments.
According to Patrick York, Gillman Auto Group Chief Operating Officer, ?We were the only privately held business to be ranked among the Top 100 Workplaces. We were the only automobile dealer on the list as well. Gillman has always been an industry leader in providing team members with top facilities, a strong benefit package, and opportunity for advancement.?
In selecting the 100 Houston-area companies as great places to be employed, Workplace Dynamics sorted through more than 50,000 responses from individuals who participated in the study. The awards were presented at a special evening event held on November 4th in downtown Houston.
Stacey Gillman Wimbish, President of the Gillman Auto Group, noted, "The recognition was for our Houston and Fort Bend dealerships along with our corporate offices. The same policies, organizational spirit, and determination to provide an exceptional workplace environment are seen in our San Antonio and Rio Grande Valley locations as well."

Gillman Family Auto Industry Leaders
Members of the Gillman family have accepted key leadership positions in the Texas retail automobile business.
Stacey Gillman Wimbish, President of the Gillman Companies, has been named 2011 Chairman Elect of the Texas Automobile Dealers Association. She will then assume the role of Association Chairman for 2012. Wimbish was recently named one of the top 100 most influential women in the North American automobile industry by Automotive News. She was also the first woman to be elected to lead the Houston Automobile Dealers Association.
Beginning in January 2011, Jason Gillman, Vice-President of the Gillman Companies and General Manager of Gillman Honda in San Antonio, Texas, has been elected to the Board of Directors of the San Antonio Area Automobile Dealers Association.
Likewise, in January 2011, Chris Gillman, Vice-President and General Manager of Gillman Honda Fort Bend, who is serving as the Houston Area Director of the Texas Automobile Dealers Association, will assume the duties of a Board Member of the Houston Auto Dealers Association.
According to Ramsay Gillman, who until February 2013 is one of the nine members of the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles Board as appointed by Governor Rick Perry, "Our dealerships are all family-owned and operated so we are deeply involved in the retail car business. It is a family tradition and a privilege to serve our industry as well as our customers."

Chrysler/Jeep/Dodge/Ram dealership. This latest Gillman facility, is located on
West Sam Houston Parkway in Houston is sited between the present Gillman Honda
and Subaru dealerships.
According to Stacey Gillman Wimbish, President of the Gillman Companies, "Our newest location which is now opened, has a full line of Chryslers, Dodges, Ram Trucks, parts and accessories. Our service technicians are undergoing Chrysler training, which will allow us to provide the level of attention our customers expect from a Gillman Service Department."
The Gillman Companies is a family-owned and operated chain of retail automobile dealerships. They currently have 14 locations in Texas, including stores in Houston, San Antonio, Fort Bend County, and the Rio Grande Valley.
Headquartered in Houston, the group was founded by Frank Gillman more than 70 years ago. His son, Ramsay Gillman, currently Chairman of the Board, is a past President of the National Automobile Dealers Association.
Chrysler will become the eighth manufacturer represented by the firm. The dealership is physically located at 10585 West Sam Houston Parkway South just inside Beltway 8 between the Galleria and Sugarland.
