Gillman Auto Group Again Named One of Houston’s Top 100 Workplaces for the Fifth Year in a Row!

In the annual Houston Chronicle survey of area companies, The Gillman Automotive Group was recognized for the fifth straight year as one of the Top 100 Workplaces. Gillman is one of only a handful of companies to be recognized for five years in a row. The ranking, based on a study done by the research group Workplace Dynamics, included over a thousand for-profit and nonprofit organizations, made up of small, medium, and mid-size establishments. Gillman ranked number 21 in the large company category, and the only automotive company listed as a winner.

According to Patrick York, Gillman Auto Group Chief Operating Officer, "We are one of the few privately held businesses to be ranked among the Top 100 Workplaces. We were also the first automobile dealer to make the list and we are still the only dealer to be a five-time winner. Gillman has always been an industry leader in providing team members with top facilities, a strong benefits package, and opportunity for advancement." When asked why he loves his job, York says, "Because working for a family business that operates with the structure of a public company offers the best of both worlds."

In selecting the 100 Houston-area companies as great places to be employed, Workplace Dynamics sorted through tens of thousands of responses from individuals who participated in the study. The awards were presented at a special evening event in downtown Houston.

Stacey Gillman Wimbish, President of the Gillman Auto Group, noted, "The recognition was for our Houston and Fort Bend dealerships along with our corporate offices. The same policies, organizational spirit, and determination to provide an exceptional workplace environment are seen in our San Antonio and Rio Grande Valley locations as well. Our San Antonio dealerships were named a top workplace in that city for the second year in a row and our dealerships in the Valley earned 'Best in Valley' awards."

Jody Valentine, Director of Human Resources said, "What really makes this company is our employees. Mutual respect between fellow employees and customers, along with dedicated hard work, makes Gillman Automotive a great place to work."

This survey is sponsored annually by the Houston Chronicle newspaper and is recognized as one of the top evaluation programs in the country.
